paul’s Story
Paul Morgan, a Worcestershire-based artist, found his passion for art early in life, drawing alongside his father.
Although his artistic journey was put on hold during a long career in the police, his love for painting was reignited with the encouragement of his wife.
A personal piece capturing his daughters on a Welsh beach marked his return to art, and he hasn't looked back since.
Paul's work now spans fine art, Impressionism and sculpture, reflecting the beauty of both natural landscapes and urban scenes.
Inspired by the Worcestershire countryside and the Welsh coastline, his art focuses on light, energy, and movement, while his career experience has shaped a deep appreciation for the calming and meditative power of creativity.
Inspiration & Artistic style
Paul’s creative process often begins with inspiration from the natural world around him. Whether it’s a snapshot of a landscape, the movement of the ocean, or a moment of solitude captured in a photograph, he translates his experiences directly onto the canvas. Music is often a key companion in his creative process, helping him immerse fully in the act of painting. He seeks to convey a sense of tranquillity, energy, and emotional depth, inviting viewers to see themselves within his work and share in the beauty of the natural world.
Paul's work is diverse, ranging from vibrant seascapes and peaceful landscapes to more abstract urban pieces and sculptures. His use of acrylics allows him to experiment with texture and light, while his watercolours provide a softer, more delicate representation of his subjects. His sculptures, such as the Highland cows made from clay and powertex, showcase a different side to his artistic talent—capturing the strength and movement of these majestic animals.
Through his art, Paul continues to explore new techniques and styles, always striving to create pieces that evoke emotion and invite viewers to connect with the beauty of the world around them.
